AoE3 Decomp Online (ADO) is bringing online play back to Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties. The game's own online screens connect to our server through the first-party multiplayer mod: you sign in with a code we email you. Online play is in development: Home Cities and the game lobby work, starting a match does not yet.
ADO is run by volunteers. It is not affiliated with Microsoft or Ensemble Studios.

News
- Home Cities and the lobby
Creating a Home City online works, Host Game opens the game's own game setup screen, and a second player can join that game from the Game Browser. Starting the match between the players is being finished.
- ADO multiplayer is in development
Sign-in works: the multiplayer mod signs you in to the game's own online home screen, now ADO Home, with a one-time code sent to your email.
- The mod manager
A Mods button in the main menu opens the Mods screen: turn mods on or off and set their load order, with each mod's picture, version, author and the flag of the country it was made in. Mods that only change game data load without a question. A mod that runs native code asks you before it loads unless the project signed it, you installed it from the project's catalog or you trusted it before (a mod with no signature at all is asked about on every launch). The game only downloads mods that carry the project's approval signature, and it checks each download's size and hash first.
- The macOS port
The Asian Dynasties runs natively on Apple silicon Macs: the original program, translated ahead of time and drawn with Metal. Skirmish games are playable; the campaign is still being tested. The decompilation goes on in the open.
